IMG_7925.JPG

Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence is the higher education wing of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam Group of Institutions, and is located at Kalaburagi District, Karnataka. The University is a modern day Gurukula which is determined to reverse the current trends of commercialisation of knowledge, and herald a new goal of divinisation of humans by teaching sciences alongside spirituality, humanities alongside divinity, and excellence alongside enlightenment.

‘ātmano mokṣārtham jagat hitāya ca – Redemption of one’s own self and the welfare of society’, is the principle on which the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence has been founded. Here, the emphasis is first and foremost on a perfect balance between spiritual education (parā vidyā) and material education (aparā vidyā) or between jīvana upādhi (means of living) and jīvita paramāvadhi (ultimate goal of life).

Unique Features of the University

  • The Only General University that offers courses in Fine Arts and Vedic and Spiritual Studies apart from the regular academic courses.

  • Future Ready Academy (FRA) trains students in about 50 skills like gardening, cooking, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, driving, accounting, financing…etc., upon completion of their Undergraduate Programme.

  • Internship Programme for a year or two follows immediately after Undergraduate studies, during which time students undergo on-the-job training in various Campuses or departments of the institution to apply practically the acquired knowledge and skills.

  • Stipend Programme – In order to keep the students and parents motivated, stipend is given to students who are doing their masters course as well. This takes care of the financial needs of the family, which when unattended, takes the form of drop-outs, early marriage or employment for a meagre income…etc.

  • Integrated Rural Development Programme – All the students of the University are enrolled in the Integrated Rural Development Programme to help them gain awareness about the challenges in rural India. This is a subject as part of their curriculum which involves three hours of theoretical study and 20 hours of practical study at various villages.

  • Ready Employment is offered to students upon completion of their Postgraduate studies to serve this mission of service in the fields of Nutrition, Education, Healthcare and its allied activities.
