Simplicity, purity and innocence is the essence of villages. Away from civilisation, neglected by the society and malnourished existence, is the current scenario of villages. It is the need-of-the-hour to develop villages taking into consideration all the facets. Material resources to sustain their bodies and minds, coupled with spiritual resources to cherish their souls needs to be capsuled and administered to them prudently. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has time and again encouraged His devotees to examine the needs of the people in nearby villages and work together to effectuate their requirements. Moral values and spirituality can be taken to the villages only after their basic necessities are fulfilled.
‘Grama Seva is Rama Seva’. Well-being of villages determines the well-being of a nation. Grama Seva by the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions are designed for a stable, steady, integrated approach towards the welfare of the villages, in their basic material needs and also their spiritual needs.
One of the days of the World Youth Meet is dedicated for Grama Seva every year. Youth, students and volunteers from around the world collectively share their love with the villagers through distribution of food packets and clothes. The joy on the faces of these villagers and the genuine welcome from them is a startling experience for everyone to witness. The flow of love between the villagers and volunteers, completely camouflages their different individual identities.
